University of Sheffield: Department of Materials Science & Engineering

One of the leading UK departments of materials science and engineering. The research has strong links to industry and is sponsored by around 120 different industrial companies and government agencies from across the world. Sheffield Hallam University: Materials and Engineering Research Institute (MERI)

Research covers a broad range of topics, from semiconductors to concrete and from theoretical modelling to industrial applied coatings. The majority of research activities are sponsored by companies from a broad range of sectors such as petrochemical, pharmaceutical, electronics, aerospace, automotive, biomedical and many more.

University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) with Boeing

The Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) provides a flexible and integrated research facility and international benchmarking centre for improving manufacturing methods and techniques for the aerospace industry. It identifies, researches and develops innovative and advanced technology solutions to advanced manufacturing problems.

AMRC with Boeing Composite Centre

The AMRC Composite Centre is a research, design, manufacturing and technology transfer centre for composites developed for general manufacturing and aerospace applications. The Centre’s mission is to create the tools, techniques, and methodologies to develop and exploit composites and advanced materials, which fall outside the traditional metals sector.

Composites at Sheffield, University of Sheffield 

Composites At Sheffield is a fusion between The University of Sheffield's Composite Centre at The Advanced Manufacturing Research centre (AMRC) with Boeing, and the Composites Systems Innovation Centre.The scope of the composites-related research conducted encompasses activities from nanocharacterisation to the automated manufacturing optimisation. They have more than 70 partners spanning the aerospace, automotive, railway, polymer and other industries.
