The Sheffield region’s manufacturing and engineering heritage means that there is a ready-made supply chain for AMM companies. The Sheffield region is situated in the centre of the UK. Its location and superb transport infrastructure mean that the area is ideally positioned for business, locally, nationally and internationally.

The excellent road transport network and allows access to 21 million people within two hours by road. That’s one-third of the UK population. There are fast and easy road links to the rest of the UK, via the M1, M18 and M180 motorways, and the A1(M). 

Excellent regional rail links include direct services to London, in less than two hours, Leeds, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool. The International Railport at Doncaster enables companies to ship freight directly and rapidly to and from Europe.

Four international airports within 90 minutes give the region’s companies easy access European and international customers. Sea transport facilities are less than 96km (60 miles) away, including the Humber ports of Hull, Goole, Grimsby and Immingham.
