LuK (UK) Ltd, part of the Schaeffler Group, has now established itself as a European manufacturing centre of excellence for both car and tractor clutches. LuK was the first clutch manufacturer in Europe to introduce the diaphragm spring clutch. Today the diaphragm spring has almost completely replaced the traditional coil spring in passenger cars, light trucks and tractors. LuK builds some eight million diaphragm spring clutches annually and supplies them to virtually all major automotive manufacturers worldwide.
Customers supplied from Sheffield include Ford, GM, Nissan, PSA Peugeot Citroën, Renault and Toyota (including Japan).
